Support ACTSESVA with Your Generous Donation

The Australian Capital Territory State Emergency Service Volunteers Association (ACTSESVA) is a separate entity to the ACT State Emergency Service, and as such does not receive any government funding.

ACTSESVA members, who are all volunteers, are not charged any membership fees. Our organisation therefore needs to undertake fundraising in order to function and provide support to its members.

We are a Charitable Institution and currently raise funds via donations, public raffles and sponsorships (if available). Funds raised assist ACTSESVA in achieving its objectives, which include:

  • be an independent representative body of the Volunteers of the ACTSES;
  • provide an effective voice for the Volunteers of the ACTSES in negotiations with the ACT Government, other organisations or individuals;
  • promote and communicate knowledge and information to and amongst the volunteers of State and Territory SES organisations and the general public;
  • provide a conduit for suggestions for desirable equipment and amenities for the Volunteers of the ACTSES;
  • support attendance at forums, conferences or training that assists with the development of Volunteers of the ACTSES;
  • assist the morale of Volunteers of the ACTSES
  • promote support for Ordinary Members and their families.

The ACTSESVA’s many functions ensure that all ACTSES Volunteers across the ACT are represented not only by a competent and professional entity, but also one that is highly influential in ensuring the voices of volunteers are clearly heard by those in power.

Funds generated directly benefit volunteers through a number of “giving” programs including Unit Grants, Education Fund and personnel support for much needed personnel operational items, amenity and welfare items.

The generous support of people across ACT who assist in the funding of the ACTSESVA is very much appreciated.
